I visited from the US after hearing about the clinic's opening. Unlike other dental clinics, it's appointment-based. This is the clinic's consideration to spend at least 30 minutes per patient, and it's truly difficult to find such a dental clinic these days. As soon as you step out of the elevator, you can hear soft classical music, and friendly staff greet you. The panoramic X-ray and Cure-ray equipment are also state-of-the-art, and they provide detailed explanations about your current dental condition, occlusion, and treatment plan. I highly recommend this place as it changes the paradigm of existing dental concepts. Since others have already praised this place extensively on Naver... I'll share a few candid thoughts and direct comments. 1) It feels like elite tutoring with a small student capacity. There are fewer staff members compared to other places. This reflects the clinic's philosophy of providing the best treatment by seeing only one patient at a time. If you're used to group dental clinics, you'll think, 'Wow, it's so quiet here.' You know that the more staff there are and the larger and more elaborate the interior space, the more it's debt from the clinic's perspective, right? Haha. Even if you go to a Joseon Dynasty Confucian school, the student who draws calligraphy the worst is the one most stained with ink on their clothes. This place feels like the real deal, so trust and entrust your care to them. Since the clinic considers patients by having a 30-minute appointment system, please keep your appointments (no-shows are truly heartbreaking), and if possible, arrive 10-15 minutes early to get your X-rays done first, which will extend your consultation time with the doctor. 2) Prevention is the best treatment. When you have 20 primary teeth and then around ages 5-6, the 3rd, 14th, 19th, and 30th teeth emerge. (This is the American numbering system, so refer to it accordingly.) Think of them as the defensive backline in soccer. After these, one molar at a time emerges. Considering wisdom teeth are removed, 70-80% or more of your dental health is determined by these 8 teeth. Take good care of them with your own methods, such as using an electric toothbrush with fine bristles, a Waterpik, and dental floss. Also, unlike other dental clinics, during your first visit, the doctor will give you a very detailed explanation about areas where your brushing is insufficient and needs more care. Listen carefully and manage your oral hygiene accordingly. 3) 'You get what you've paid for.' This is an English proverb, and in Korean, it easily translates to 'You get what you pay for.' I can confidently say this applies to the medical industry almost 99% of the time. Not all doctors/dentists have similar skills. Especially in dentistry, the university you graduated from is irrelevant to your skills. It's just about getting a slightly higher score on the college entrance exam due to good condition or luck on the day of the test, but ultimately, it comes down to manual dexterity. Also, the duration of your postgraduate training is a very important factor. The price may vary somewhat depending on the experience or the number of procedures performed by the attending doctor. Clinics that compete on price on the internet often have hidden traps or will recommend additional treatments once you visit. In particular, the method of placing a post after a root canal treatment to use the tooth once more is extremely difficult, and since it's not profitable for the clinic, many places will just suggest extracting it and getting an implant. Is this truly for the patient's benefit? Dr. Junyeop Kim's blog has many similar cases. It would be very helpful to thoroughly read these posts before your first visit. There are three or four dental clinics on every block, and it's hard to find a trustworthy one, isn't it? You won't regret visiting JYK Dental, I'm confident.

Dr. Kim is a top-tier dentist in the capital of Korea. I have had a truly wonderful experience at this dental clinic since my first visit and am so satisfied that I have recommended it to my spouse and friends. My first impression was that I had never seen such kind and considerate staff before. Everyone is skilled and professional. Furthermore, the equipment they use is state-of-the-art. I visited Dr. Kim after a previous bone graft procedure at another periodontist's office failed. Dr. Kim explained the bone grafting process in a very meticulous and detailed manner. Dr. Kim emphasizes the importance of preventive care and oral hygiene. You may have heard that it is important to maintain a neutral salivary pH to prevent demineralization and effectively remove plaque before bedtime. However, remember that over 70% of dental problems stem from occlusal issues. Dr. Kim is a true expert in this field. He is also a certified adjunct professor who teaches implant procedures to other dentists. After following Dr. Kim's advice, all the problems I had have been resolved. He is fluent in English as he has experience living abroad. I am sincerely grateful to JYK Dental Clinic.
